How To Delete Your Facebook Account Permanently.
….is the biggest social network in the world with around 1.13 billion active users per day. An uncountable number of profiles are created every day. Many people post almost all of their life activities on Facebook and for some people, it’s only a medium to remain connected with their old friends and remember their birthdays.
Facebook can be a great tool for staying in touch with friends and family but, for some people, the constant bombardment of updates, messages, likes, pokes and advertisements can all become a bit overwhelming.
Maybe you’re wasting too many precious hours looking at what your friends are up to. Perhaps you no longer like the idea of giving your personal information to a website. Or maybe you’ve decided Myspace wasn’t so bad after all. Whatever the reason, you can delete your Facebook account.
If you’ve decided that you’re done with Facebook, you’re not alone — in recent years, an increasing number of users have opted to drop their accounts. However, the process of completely and permanently deleting your account is anything but intuitive. To start learning how to save all of the data you need and delete your account for good, see Step 1 below!
2.Download a copy of all your information. Just in case you ever feel nostalgic and want to reminisce on all those selfies. You can find where to do this in your Settings area from your page menu.Select ‘Download a copy of your data’ at the bottom of the main page. You can do this using the Settings menu. From your main profile page, click the downward-pointing triangle in the very top right of the page, then click “Settings”. On the Settings menu, click the small link that says “Download a copy of your Facebook data”. Follow the prompts to verify your identity and begin your download.
3.Clear your Facebook history if desired-Next, you may want to undo some or all of your previous actions on Facebook, such as comments you’ve made, especially if they include personal information. Account deletion doesn’t occur immediately — a waiting period of 14 days must pass before your account (and the contributions associated with it) are gone for good. So, if there’s anything you want to disappear immediately, you may want to manually delete it now.
- Note, however, that some activity, like the personal messages you send to others, can’t be deleted.
- It’s easy to delete lots of your history at once with the Activity Log. To access the Activity Log, click the Privacy button in the top-right corner (it looks like a padlock next to three horizontal lines). Select “See More Settings”. On the next page, click the “Use Activity Log” link. Here, you can delete pieces of your activity by clicking the small pencil icon next to each and selecting “Delete”.
Then you need to go to https://www.facebook.com/help/delete_account, click on “Delete my account”, then follow the steps to confirm.
It may take up to some days for Facebook to delete all of the things you’ve posted, like your photos, status updates or other data stored in backup systems. While Facebook is deleting this information, it is inaccessible to other people using the social network.
Some of the things you do on Facebook aren’t stored in your account. For example, a friend may still have messages from you in their inbox. That information will remain even after you delete your account, so you will need to contact the recipients of you want it removed.
Once you hit delete, you’re done.
Congratulations and enjoy your freedom.
